Application being deleted for not attending Biometric appointment
Will the UKVI / Home Office delete my online visa application if I am unable to attend my Biometrics enrolment appointment, since the Appointment centres are closed?
The online applications will be held in the Access UK database for a period of 240 days from the date of submission of the online application, i.e. the date on which the application fees(including the Immigration Health Surcharge, if applicable) is paid.
This means that the online application will remain live and valid to enable the applicant to attend a Biometrics appointment at a later date as soon as the appointment centres are open again.
It is advisable that the Applicant should download a pdf copy of the online submitted application.
For applications filed in the UK, where the applicant is required to attend an appointment at one of the Sopra Steria centres in the UK, the applicant should create a UKVCAS account after submitting their online application, so that Sopra Steria can contact them when the appointment service resumes.
(As a part of the application journey, after making the payment of the UKVI fees, the system will direct the applicant to create a UKVCAS account, if he/she is required to attend an appointment at Sopra Steria centres in the UK, the UKVCAS account can be created using the green button "BOOK APPOINTMENT" as seen in the image below, ignore the deadline date-22 June 2020 in this image)
If for any reason, the appointment services are closed for more than 240 days, then the UKVI will contact the applicant who has submitted the application (as explained above) and advise when the applicant can enrol his/her biometrics and if the applicant fails to enrol his/her biometrics within the timescales as advised, then the UKVI will send a reminder and give a further grace period to enrol the biometrics and if still the Biometrics are not enrolled, then the application will be rejected as invalid.
