My husband has applied online for his Skilled Worker (5 years) Visa from outside the UK. While his application is pending, We are trying to now apply for dependent’s visas. A visa application is transferred to IHS for immigration health surcharge payment, and only after the payment has been made the application is completed and VFS appointment can be obtained for biometrics. My partner dependent visa application was completed and we were able to make the IHS payment. However when it comes to the children’s application we are being asked to provide my husband’s visa expiry date which is not available as the visa application is pending. Is it not possible to apply for dependent’s visa without obtaining the main applicant’s visa? We are struggling to find an answer.

I have a business opportunity to acquire a share of a small business and become a shareholder and director of this business.

The new business is not in the same category as my sponsor company.

I will not be employed by the new business, I will only be a shareholder and director of the company doing a few admin tasks.

By becoming a director and shareholder of this new company, am I in contravention of UK immigration law and will this jeopardize my ability to apply for ILR in future?

Following are the category of leaves to remain in the UK that undocumented/ illegal/overstayer migrants can apply from within the UK:

1. If they are in a Genuine and Subsisting relationship with an EEA national, who is exercising treaty rights in the UK(working, studying, self sufficient, etc.) then can apply for the Unmarried Partner or Spouse/Civil Partner visa in the form of a Residence card

2. If they are the parent of an under 18 years old - British Child/Settled Child (child who has spent the first 7 years of their life in the UK) and they have a shared or sole responsibility for the child. They may or may not be in a relationship with the Child's other parent. They will need a confirmation from the other parent about their role in the child's upbringing

3. If they are in a Genuine and Subsisting relationship with a British national or Settled person…

Let me begin by thanking you for this beautiful place where we can seek for some legal advices. I have been living in the UK for a little more than three years as a non EEA spouse of an Italian citizen. However, I am getting Italian citizenship in a week through Italian Consulate in London. Do I need to inform Home Office or other government agencies once I get my Italian citizenship as I want to reside here as an Italian? Thanks.
